Q. Where are you located? A. We are on the south of Eleuthera Island. The Bahamas. We are in the center of the Cape Eleuthera Resort & Marina.
Q. Can I bring my boat to the Marina? A. Of course. Please contact the Cape Eleuthera Resort and Marina directly for all Marina enquiries.
Q. Is The Dive Shop open to the general public? A. Yes. You do not need to be a guest of the Resort to dive with us. People drive from all over the island to dive with us.
Q. Is the Cape Eleuthera Resort open to the general public? A. Somewhat. The Resort general store, restaurant and bar (Including Friday night at Friendly's bar) are available for public use. The pool, private beaches and gymnasium are reserved for resort guests only.
Q. Can non-diving guests come to the Resort and wait there while I am diving? A. Yes, but limited to the above areas. Please enquire with the Resort directly for a DAY PASS to use the other facilities.
Q. Can we book accommodation through the Dive Shop? A. No. Although our dive guests will receive preferential rates. You will need to book directly with the Resort.
Q. Do you need to be a trained and certified scuba diver to participate in scuba diving activities? A. Yes. You will not be allowed to dive and you will be charged full price if you book activities knowing you are not certified. Explore on this website for options for learning to dive or the PADI Discover Scuba Diving program.
Q. I have not dived in 10 years. Can I go diving? A. No. You need to have recently completed a refresher and be medically declare fit for diving again.
Q. Are your dives guided by a Divemaster? A. Yes. We do not allow unsupervised dives.
Q. I have lost my diving card. Can I still dive? A. You MUST be able to provide proof that you are a trained and certified diver or you will not be able to dive. If you are a PADI diver we should be able to look you up on the PADI database. If you are not a PADI diver you must provide proof from your chosen dive agency. There are no exceptions to this rule.
Q. Is equipment included in your listed prices? A. Yes, all equipment is provided. Most people who visit Eleuthera don't have their own equipment. It is easier for us just to include it in the prices.
Q. What times do your dive trips run? A. We traditionally offer 2 trips per day. For the AM trip we ask divers to be at The Dive Shop by 08.30am. For our PM trips please be there by 12.45pm.
Q. Do you provide nitrox? A. No.
Q. Do you have emergency oxygen on your dive boat? A. Yes of course, our boat has emergency oxygen, VHF radio, medical kits, cool packs and all things needed.
Q. Do I need diver insurance to dive? A. No. It is your decision to dive without insurance. All guests will be required to sign the standard liability release waivers. However, we strongly advise you to get insurance. It is cheap and can save you life and your mortgage. Visit our insurance page for your country agent.
Q. Is there a hyperbaric chamber in Nassau? A. Yes. But we can't guarantee it's availability. If you are involved in a serious incident you may need to be transported to a chamber in the USA or other countries. Hence why it is so important to have insurance. Q. Is alcohol permitted during diving activities? A. No. There is zero tolerance for drinking and diving.

Q. What are the rules for diving before flying? A. PADI divers are advised that after multiple diving 18 hours before flying must be observed. For a single dive it is 12 hours before flying. Visit our Dive trips and insurance page for a free download from the Diver Alert Network.

Q. I haven't dived for a while, what do you recommend? A. We strongly advise you to complete a refresher course before you come, or enquire with The Dive Shop about doing it here in the Bahamas.
Q. I have a minor cut on my body, can I still participate in shark diving? A. Yes, the sharks are not attracted to human blood. You do not smell like fish. If it is a major wound then no, due to the risk of infection from sea water.
Q. I am on my menstrual cycle. Can I still participate in Shark diving? A. Yes. But only you know your body and comfort levels. It will not affect the sharks.

Q. Can pregnant woman come on your boat? A. Yes of course, but you will not be allowed to participate in in- water activities. The boat has a shaded area for those that want to stay out of the sun.
